These die are designed to flare at 45 degre with a radius of 1/4, your 1 inch hole will make a 1.500 inch at the outside of the flared hole. Can be used on a hydraulic press or with an hammer.

  1. Q Are these made for pipe or tubing?
    A Hi, they are made to punch dimples into sheets of metal ( any kind of metal )
  2. Q What are these dies made out of?
    A They are made from 1045 carbon steel.
  3. Q What material thickness are these simple dies good for?
    A They are designed for thin sheet primarily for give rigidity and remove a good weight percent of your constructions. But you can also do it in more thicker materials up to 3/16 of an inch ( 5mm ). Mainly is depend on your method. A 10lbs hammer or a little 5T hydraulic press is good for 1/16 and less thick steels sheets but if you want to go thicker, you will need more pressing power. Always remember to lubricate when you forming metals.
